FREEDIVE CHRISTMAS ISLAND TEAM

DAVID MULHERON

David is the owner of Freedive Christmas Island and a qualified freediving instructor and athlete.

He is the current continental record holder in CWTB (constant weight bi-fins) and represented Australia at the freediving depth world championships in France in 2019. Teaching others to freedive is something he loves to do. Whether you are someone just wanting to improve your snorkelling or an experienced spearfisher wanting to dive deeper for longer, taking a freediving course is the best way to learn to improve your skills and freedive safely and confidently. The improvements you can make in a short amount of time with proper instruction are amazing to see. Christmas island is blessed with clear warm water and incredible marine life. Taking a freediving course here will allow you to make the most of this amazing place.

Greg Tenikoff

Greg is a passionate freediver from South Australia and is Freedive CI’s head instructor for 2023. Like many of us, Greg’s love of the ocean and adventure is what birthed his pursuit of freediving. Having relocated from South Australia, Greg has 7 years of diving experience under his belt with a particular tendency to the DNF (no fins) Discipline.

His decision to pursue the sport more purposefully came after a catastrophic ear injury almost cut his career short. Having recovered and gained a newfound appreciation for the sport, he has trained up to become an instructor and also participated in the Australian Freediving Pool Nationals in 2022. Greg is also a freelance musician and professional music teacher, having worked with students in the classroom and one on one. Many parallels can be drawn between the practice of music and freediving, and Greg’s professional background makes him a natural learning facilitator.
